VoiceAbility - Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy Service (IMCA)
Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy Service (IMCA). The IMCA service supports the most vulnerable people going through life-changing decisions, who have no-one appropriate to speak up for them. Independent advocates must be appointed to assist people who lack capacity to make a decision about a serious medical treatment or a change in accommodation and do not have anyone appropriate to consult about the decision.
For more information about the service, the role of an independent mental capacity advocate and how to make a referral, visit IMCA service for Sefton website
