Fisher's Mobile Farm
We bring our farm animals to schools, nurseries, fayres, family days & promotions across the whole of the North West including Greater Manchester, Liverpool & Merseyside & the whole of Lancashire. For education or for pleasure, our mobile petting farm is a great attraction for young & old, town or country - we can bring our country farm into your urban area.
We offer an exciting opportunity for children of all ages to experience farm life without leaving your school, nursery or playgroup grounds.
By introducing children to a range of farm animals in a safe, well organised environment we will provide an experience that motivates to produce quality work with links across the National Curriculum.
- Visits can be tailored to your needs with a creative package of worksheets and ICT resources included.
- We are fully insured & a Risk Assessment form can be downloaded from our "School Resources" page
- We will leave your school grounds clean & tidy
- We arrive at your school about 2 hours before our educational visit begins to set up our farm -
- All we need is access for our towing cars & trailers & enough room to set up our pens - about 20m x 20m - either grass or hard standing is OK. Playground, sports field or even your staff car park would be suitable
There usually will be 2 or 3 us from Fishers Mobile Farm, but would ask you to supply an appropriate number of teachers/adults for child supervision
- You will need hand washing facilities or we can bring mobile sinks
- In accordance with DEFRA regulations, no other livestock can be present in the area.
- If you have any special requirements, please let us know
We have gazebos to keep your children & our animals dry if rain or cool if sunny (!!). All our animals are securely enclosed in pens allowing children to get close to the animals in a safe & fun environment.
Our visits include:
- Time for the children to wander among the pens, chat to us & meet our animals
- Meeting the individual animals as a group activity: discussing breeds & their differences, what each animal eats, where each animals lives & where do they sleep, how our animals stay fit & healthy & answering questions
